Review: Set Us Free by MR Leahy

Set Us Free
Set Me Free (Book 1)

1. Would you recommend this book to others, and why? Yes! Kodah should be what every woman wants in a man! He was such an amazing character.

2. How long did it take to finish? Less than a day! As soon as it was sent to my kindle I stared this book and I managed to neglect all my motherly duties to finish it!

3. Were the main characters likeable?  Likeable? Uh duh! How could you dislike Emmalyn and Kodah? You couldn't. Their story was amazing.

4. Favorite scene? I actually loved all the scenes with Emmalyn and Drifter. Drifter is my favorite!

5. Favorite quote? “I'm going to get us out of here, Emmy, and when I do, I'm going to keep you." (Although this is from book one (Set Me Free), it was repeated and still a favorite quote of mine.

6. Were the characters and their problems believable? Human trafficking is real. Child trafficking is real. I love books that call attention to the very ugly realities that happen in our world. PTSD and other psychological issues are some things that I am interested in.

7. Is the plot unique? Yaassss! 👏👏👏 Amnesia? Motorcycle Clubs? Human trafficking? Slaves? Can you be anymore unique?!

8. Did you like the way the book ended? The ending was perfect. Kodah and Emmy are life!

9. How would you rate it? 5 Stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

10. Dislikes/Likes about the book. I did get frustrated with Emmyalyns memory but that was nothing against the author or the writing. I just wanted her to remember Kodah already! There is nothing that I hate about this book. It was the perfect ending, especially after that cliffhanger we were left with in Set Me Free. I cannot wait for the series to continue. JB and Bailey's story will be an amazing journey I am sure! I am so glad that I found MR Leahy and cannot wait to see where she will go in life as an author!

Review: Mister O by Lauren Blakely

Mister O
Big Rock (Spencer's Story)

1. Would you recommend this book to others, and why? Yes! Harper is the main reason I would recommend this book. She was amazing.

2. How long did it take to finish? One day!

3. Were the main characters likeable?  Very much so. Nick was witty and sarcastic. Harper was awkward in an adorable way.

4. Favorite scene? I have a few. But Nick and his brother walking dogs in the park was hilarious to me. They were having a weird conversation about dog breeds.

5. Favorite quote? “I’ve fallen wildly, madly, relentlessly in love with my best friend’s sister, and I can’t imagine living without her.”

6. Were the characters and their problems believable? Harper’s awkward behavior around men was believable but the whole, “teach me to be less awkward by having sex” was not. But it’s fiction! I’m reading to get away from the believable.

7. Is the plot unique? Very. A magician and a comic writer about a superhero that gives orgasms? I also love brother's best friend and sister romance! So sweet.

8. Did you like the way the book ended? The ending was perfect.

9. How would you rate it? 4 Stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐

10. Dislikes/Likes about the book. I liked catching up with the characters from Big Rock. Spencer is Harper’s brother and Nick’s best friend. I also liked how the whole book was written in Nick’s POV. There aren’t enough books where we see what the guy is thinking.

Review: Shy Girls Write It Better by May Sage

Shy Girls Write it Better
Some Girls Do It Series box set

1. Would you recommend this book to others, and why? Yes! Shy Girls Write It Better was a fun, but also sexy read.

2. How long did it take to finish? Maybe 2 days. It’s not that long of a book

3. Were the main characters likeable?  Yes! There was never a time that I hated any of the characters. It wasn’t a book about drama. It was about an innocent woman who wrote about not so innocent things.

4. Favorite scene? In Carters office. When he decides to help, Cassie act out her scenes from her book. She “obviously” needed to experience the activities she wrote about. 🔥🔥 It was hott.

5. Favorite quote? “… he sighed, wondering if he should just throw in the towel and marry the damn woman.” 💑

6. Were the characters and their problems believable? Their problems were believable. It’s hard to be shy and find love. It’s hard to own a company and find true love!

7. Is the plot unique? Yes! It was cute! A shy, nerdy girl. Secretly writing erotica? Where her manuscript accidently lands in her boss’s lap?! It was funny and cute!

8. Did you like the way the book ended? I would have loved to see farther down the road instead of just weeks, BUT it was still a great ending.

9. How would you rate it? 4 Stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Even though it was a great book, there was no WOW factor that this book will stick with me for forever. But it was a fun read that I enjoyed and brightened my day.

10. Dislikes/Likes about the book. There were no real dislikes about this book. The author didn’t drag the story out and there was no unnecessary drama. That is always a plus for me. Some drama is good but too much can be overwhelming. The characters were amazing and the sex scenes were HOTT! Carter and Cassie’s antics were hilarious and the minor characters really helped develop the story.

Review: Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

1.       Would you recommend this book to others, and why? Yes, I think readers should at least attempt to read this book.

2.       How long did it take to finish? It took me 2 days to read this book! I had to sleep at some point.
3.       Were the main characters likeable?  Cath was frustrating. I’m antisocial and awkward in new situations but I at least TRY when I am in new environments. Wren was absent. Nick (ugh). Reagan was my favorite! And Levi was cute but I never knew when he was serious.

4.       Favorite scene? When Cath and Wren were friends again! I’m a mom of twins, so I never want to think of them arguing to the point that they don’t want to talk to each other!

5.       Favorite quote? “Are you rooting for me? Are you hoping I pull this off?”

6.       Were the characters and their problems believable? For sure. College is a new experience and the problems they faced were real.

7.       Is the plot unique? It was unique in the sense that there aren’t many books about fanfiction, but don’t be confused because there wasn’t much actual fanfiction going on. Cath talked about writing it but we don’t see the actual interactions.

8.       Did you like the way the book ended? No. It was abrupt. I actually went to Goodreads to see if there was a book 2. I felt there should have been more.

9.       How would you rate it? 3.5 stars ⭐⭐⭐

10.   Dislikes/Likes about the book. I liked the dialogue between the characters. Especially Cath and her roommate Reagan. It’s hard to explain what I didn’t like. I felt it was missing something. I can’t say exactly what. But the story was missing that SPARK.

Review: Illicit by Ava Harrison

Would you recommend this book to others, and why?
I would recommend this book to readers that love drama!

How long did it take to finish?
It took me around 3 days to finish. I could not get into the story and skimmed many pages.

 Were the main characters likeable?
I did like the characters! Lynn was sweet, and her home life was sad. Carson was mysterious and hard to figure out.

 Favorite scene?
The first scene. It had such promise! When Carson and Lynn first met.

Were the characters and their problems believable?
The characters were believable and their problems. I just didn't like the book because it stressed me out! Usually a heroine or hero has 1 problem! There were really no problems (other than student/teacher) until half way through. And than it was like Lynn could not get away from problems! It was unbelievable that she had that many!

Is the plot unique?
Although it is a student/teacher romance, it is unique in the way that Carson and Lynn didn't meet at school.

Did you like the way the book ended?
I was honestly just glad it ended.

  How would you rate it?

  Dislikes/Likes about the book.

I loved the cover! Even though I didn't picture Carson like this! Also the first half of the book was amazing! The last half made me lower my rating. Lynn should have had only 1 or 2 problems happen and if more did happen it should not all happen in the last 5 chapters of the book. To me the ending felt rushed and was crammed into one final chapter.

Review: 'Dr. OB' by Max Monroe

Dr. OBscene

What it's about:

It’s just a docuseries about your career as an OB/GYN, they said.
It won’t interrupt your life during or after filming, they said.
It is a great opportunity for the hospital and your practice, they said.

Well, they—the television executives who seem intent on ruining my career and personal life with a fair number of creative liberties—lied.
Now I’m stuck dealing with the consequences of believing them.

Instead of being known as Dr. Will Cummings, Head of Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Luke’s Hospital, I’m now being called Dr. Obscene.

What devotion I’d hoped to earn in respect, I’ve instead received in patients flashing me seductive smiles and flirtatious winks during their exams.

How’s a guy supposed to convince the most perfect woman he’s ever met that he’s not as much of an idiot in real life as he appears to be on camera?

With all of the show’s side effects taking root like parasites, it’s going to take a lot to persuade Melody Marco to be anything more than my new nurse.
But I can’t get her out of my head.

want her.

Good thing I’ve never been one to back away from a challenge…

Get ready, Melody.

The doctor is in

Over the weekend, I wanted a fun read! When I started 'Dr. OB' I wasn't sure what to expect. I thought it was going to be scandalous. The title and the blurb made me hesitate. I am so glad that I ignored my doubts. This book was LAUGH OUT LOUD funny. There were a handful of times that I laughed while reading and the people surrounding me just stared. Max Monroe knows how to write a story! These characters were hilarious. Poor things! Nothing seemed to be going right for them, in the most embarrassing ways. This is just book 1 in a new standalone Rom Com series called St. Luke's Docuseries. The first book is Dr. Will Cummings, he is an OB/GYN and let's just say, when he watches the first episode he is shocked when they manipulate the footage to make him out to be the opposite of what he was hoping for.

In these series we get to reconnect with all the characters from their 'Bad Boy Billionaire' series. Kline, Thatcher, Cassie, Winnie, Georgia, and Wes are all present and just as amazing and sweet as ever. It was fun catching up with that crazy bunch!

Melody is a nurse that is interviewing at St. Luke's and knows nothing about the new show Will is on. Of course she is hired! With all the crazy women who are trying to get to Will, they wanted someone normal. Melody is sweet and fits in great with the Cummings family.

I have to say that I love Max Monroe's books. They know how to write a great plot and keep you entertained. The thing that I adore most, is the minor characters! Honestly, Will and Melody's parents were a must need in this book! Also the staff at St. Luke's were cringe worthy! They were horrible! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 This is a must read for anyone needing a pick me up!
